About Lee Dawson
With more than 25 years in Quality and Product Development, Lee has provided training and consultation services since 1987. As CEO of Quality Associates International, Lee currently provides expertise and direction for Product Development Design Activities, Quality Function Deployment (QFD) and Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA) for companies such as Ford Motor Company, Caterpillar, Alza, Daimler Chrysler and many others. Lee regularly provides consulting in industries such as Automotive, Medical Devices and Drug Delivery, Retail products, Mining / Heavy Machinery, Banking and services sectors businesses.
The training approach taken by Lee is hard hitting and often times humorous. He believes that Quality Discipline training does not have to be boring and as such he tries to bring a lively, comedic atmosphere to the classroom using examples based on past experiences. He has traveled to Asia, Australia, Europe, and South America to teach, advise and provide engineering services.
Lee’s formal education is in Metallurgical Engineering Mathematics. He is a Certified Quality and Reliability Engineer. A senior member of ASQ, SAE, AIAG and several other organizations charged with continuous improvement in the quality tools. Lee is a Six Sigma Master Black Belt, specialist in Design for Six Sigma Deployment. An avid diver and pilot, Lee knows the importance of Reliability and discipline to ensure excellence. He has written many articles for publications such as Quality Digest and Quality Magazine. Lee’s experience includes Design Engineering in Automotive Chassis Systems, Medical Devices, Assemblies, Military applications and Transactional Systems. He has also co-authored a recently released book called FMEA in Design, Manufacture and Service or Murphy’s Law Revisited.
